Reference EXTRACT is a search engine designed to search high-quality FAQ [Frequently Asked Question] sites and and previously asked question sites on the web.  Therefore, it is a very specific search engine in terms of what it will locate.  Many of these sites are science oriented.

Brainboost is a search engine designed to get quick answers to your questions.  Simply type in your question and let Brainboost find the answer.  This search engine is designed more for people who want to know a short answer on a particular topic than someone looking for elaborate information.

Ask the Experts

AllExperts Questions & Answers is a search engine of experts in various fields who are available to answer your questions on all sorts of topics from history to auto repair to pets to parenting.  The site offers you a list of different people to answer your questions, their credentials, and evaluations from others who have sought their help.  The site won't give you a lot of detail on a topic, but it's useful if you are just looking for a quick answer on a particular topic.

Searching del.icio.us

del.icio.us is an Internet system of marking web pages with "tags" so as to make finding pages of interest easier.  Different web users who find an interesting page can "tag" it and then others looking for similar pages will also be able to find it as well.  The del.icio.us tag search is a search engine that locates pages based upon the "tags" that others have used.

Tutorial and Lesson Search

FyberSearch has many of the normal functions of a search engine such as searching the web and search rss/xml feeds but it also has a special search for lessons and tutorials on the web and a "ghetto" search that reverses the normal search results so that you can find less commonly noticed sources of information and get results you might not get with Google.

Snap is a news search engine that searches for relevent articles as you type your search request right in.  It also offers a large preview of the selections it finds including highlighting search words in the articles.  You can also limit your news searches to entertainment, top news stories, sports, business, U.S. and World news.

eHow.com is a search engine designed to find instructions how to do things.  The site is intended to be the world's largest how-to book where you can find help and leave your own guides to help others.  You can also subscribe to the site to receive the daily how-to via your e-mail.

Looking for that special recipe?

FoodieView is the recipe search engine with over 250,000 recipies to search through.  You can search by recipe name, ingredients, chef, dishes cuisine, and more.  If you find a good recipe, just add it to your recipe box for later.  FoodieView is more than recipies, it also includes cookbook reviews, restaurant information and links to other cooking resources.
