There was beeping and alight was red when I pulled in the garage after getting the children from school. I hustled them into the house and immediately called my husband and told him the air alarm was going. “Carbon Monoxide Alarm“, he corrected me. “And it sounds like its battery is low. What is the one in the kitchen doing?” Nothing, and I thought the alarm in the kitchen was a fire alarm. He said that he’d take care of it when he got home, and if I was worried about it, to just leave the garage door open as that should flush any carbon monoxide out that might have gathered because the detector might not really be working. So I left the door open and kept an ear open for the kitchen alarm. My husband fixed the garage alarm, and I had him check the kitchen one just to make sure.
